How to Play

Goal

Capture all of your opponent's pieces or leave them without a move. Capturing is mandatory: if you can capture, you must. Multiple jumps continue in one move.

Turkish Dama

16 pieces each on the second and third rows, all squares. A man moves one square forward or sideways, never back, and captures by jumping forward or sideways. A man reaching the last row becomes a king: kings move any distance along rows and columns and capture a distant piece by jumping it, landing on any empty square beyond. If several captures are possible you must take the one capturing the most pieces. Captured pieces are removed immediately.

American Checkers

12 pieces each on the dark squares. A man moves one square diagonally forward and captures by jumping diagonally forward. A man reaching the last row is crowned king and moves and captures one square diagonally in any direction. Capturing is mandatory; with several options you choose. Crowning ends the move.

Game end

A player with no pieces or no legal move loses. Fifty moves without a capture or a man move is a draw.

Coach

Tap a piece to see where it can go and what it captures. Coach mode compares every move with the best one; "show on board" reveals the better move. Accuracy report at the end.
